The origin of it's name

TWELVE37, INC. is more than a service provider—we are a mission-driven organization rooted in family legacy, hard work, and compassion. Our name and our values are a tribute to the foundation laid by our CEO’s grandparents, Walter and Mary Hodge, whose influence continues to shape the way we serve today.

The name TWELVE37 comes from the childhood home address of our CEO, LaThomas “Mike” Hodge: 1237 16th Street in Newport News, Virginia.

That home, purchased by Walter and Mary Hodge on October 3, 1968 for $11,200, became the foundation for a family legacy built on perseverance, service, and integrity. Over five decades later, on January 31, 2019, the property sold for $1,334,800, reflecting not just financial appreciation, but the enduring value of the family’s sacrifices and community presence becoming a symbol of both stability and opportunity.

 Carrying forward the number “1237” in our name ensures that every step TWELVE37, INC. takes is rooted in where we came from—and who we serve.

Walter L. Hodge was a respected business owner and licensed contractor who operated Hodge Plumbing and Heating for more than 50 years. Known for his fair pricing, honest work, and strong values, he taught his family that success is built on dedication and integrity.

His legacy of entrepreneurship and resilience lives on through TWELVE37, INC., guiding how we approach both our business practices and our commitment to those we serve.

Mary Hodge, a devoted homemaker, was known for her compassion and generosity. She opened her doors and her heart to anyone in need—feeding, clothing, and housing neighbors and strangers alike.

Her example of community care inspires our mission to provide services that ensure no one is left without support, dignity, or belonging.
